JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS...THE "MUST HAVE" FOR 2013.....BUSTER Buster is looking for a someone who believes in forever and won't dump him like his last owner. He prefers a quiet home without a lot of hustle and bustle. Buster loves to be with his people. He bonds quickly, snuggles warm, and just wants to be with you and loved.
Buster is crate trained, house trained, tolerates cats and other dogs. He's also a pretty good alarm/watch dog! He is a brand new dog now that he's on nutritious food and the right medication. If you think Buster could be The One for you, contact us today.
*** Buster's treatment for Cushing's Disease is covered under CARE until his cortisol level is where it needs to be. He was on 30mg daily of Trilostane (Vetoryl), but is now being reduced to 15mg daily. He will be rechecked in about 1 month to see if this is his correct dose. Buster will soon undergo a dental, also covered under CARE. There's no reason he cannot be adopted to local adopters (around Columbia, SC) or to someone willing to travel back for his recheck.
A completed adoption application and home visit are required for approval to adopt a CARE dog. We do adopt out of state if all vetting is complete. The most accurate and complete information about available dogs can be found on our official website at www.caretoadopt.org.
More about Buster
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats
Special Needs: Buster has Cushing's Disease, which is common in many breeds, especially Yorkies. We are currently still working to get his cortisol level right. This is a manageable disease with monthly medications, comparable to Diabetes. He also has KCS (dry eye syndrome, common in small/older dogs), which requires eye gel drops and Optimmune Ointment (cyclosporine).
